State Parks
Located south of Chester
on South Carolina Highway 72/121,
Chester State Park, centers on a 160-acre lake surrounded by a two-mile nature trail through the pine forest
and offers hiking trails, picnic tables, boat rentals and fishing.

Located on the Catawba
River in NE Chester County,
Landsford Canal State Park
is home to the well-preserved remains of a canal system
which was once used to transport cotton and other crops to market in Charleston.
The river hosts one of the largest known stands of rocky shoals spider lilies that bloom spectacularly
in late May and early June. The park features historic canal
structures, interpretive signage, picnic tables, fishing and
trails
